The project encompassed daylight dimming throughout the installation, reducing energy use further. In the offices, our occupancy sensors have also been fitted.
Two education projects in Hartlepool and Stockton have installed our Klik lighting control system, including the KLCM (Klik’s lighting control module), with both engineers and clients benefitting from its self-service functionality.
Grangefield Academy and Manor College have been part of a multi-million-pound redevelopment and will be handed over to their clients before Easter.
In the classrooms, the Klik LCM provides on/off, dimming and scene-setting, which comes together using our Klik 7 pin lighting connection system. These can be set by the LCM iOS App, allowing the client to programme individual settings for each room.

Dan Beames of Lorne Stewart talked enthusiastically about how easy our Klik lighting control system was to programme. After carrying out his training at our Academy, he said, “I ‘got it’ straight away and it’s easy to complete the commissioning ourselves. The iPad App tool for commissioning via Bluetooth has made it quick and easy to commission.”
From the classroom to the science lab, Dan was impressed with its functionality and explained, “In some rooms, I set the inputs to make it easy to get the wiring done (simple on/off at every light switch), whereupon completion, I then come back in and upload a pre-saved profile. This saves time, as most of the classrooms have the same profile. Simply connect to the LCM via Bluetooth and the KlikLink App, upload the profile and sync.”
Dan continued, “We have found that, as we complete more projects using our Klik LCM we will find better ways to prepare to make it even easier at the installation and commissioning phases. With technical support from us on hand at every stage, we are looking forward to our next project”
Dan went on to explain how he has put his new gained knowledge into practice, showing the client representative how easy it is to alter or change the set profile of a room using the App, which will make future management of the facility quick and easy.
Both redevelopments are off school premises and will provide improved teaching facilities, comprising of a sports hall, fitness studio/gym, changing rooms, staff offices, stores, activity studio, dining area, kitchen, hall, drama studio, SEN department, staff facilities, LRC, science labs, and various other classrooms, with associated landscaping and parking.
Grangefield Academy is a £19m redevelopment whilst Manor College is a £14m redevelopment.
