Limitations and Alternatives
Despite our best efforts to ensure the accessibility of our application, there may be some limitations.
The application is constantly evolving. Some features are subject to impact testing, and are therefore only offered temporarily. Furthermore, a significant part of the site will be reworked in the near future. We focus our efforts on optimizing the accessibility of future features, which explains why some known limitations have not yet been addressed.
Below is a description of the main difficulties identified, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe a problem not listed below.
Known limitations:
Images: In the navigation menu and main content, decorative images are not correctly ignored by assistive technologies. Informative images representing list indexes must be replaced with styled text or have a replacement mechanism.
Media (Videos): Some video frames have no title. Some frames have irrelevant titles as the nature of the content (videos) is not specified. Videos have no text transcript. Videos have automatically generated text transcripts or synchronized subtitles that are not relevant.
Contrast and Colors: The selected state of some buttons is indicated only by color. Some texts have insufficient contrast with their background. Some interface components like buttons or form fields lack sufficient contrast with their background.
Navigation and Structure: Links are not sufficiently explicit as the destination or function is not provided, and the accessible label for assistive technologies does not match the visible label. Links have no label. Content is not always properly structured with headings. Some navigation tags lack labels, and content is outside structuring tags. Some lists are not properly structured or visually simulated.
Focus and Interaction: Focus is not visible on interactive elements. Interface components (navigation trail, tabs, accordions, buttons, modal windows, grid/list mode buttons, carousel) are not compatible with assistive technologies or keyboard. Content grouping areas present on multiple pages cannot all be reached or avoided. Tab order is not always consistent for modal windows or search filters among others.
Forms: Form fields have no label. Checkboxes are not grouped. On some forms, error messages are not correctly linked to corresponding fields and required fields are not explicit. Fields (example: Email address, Postal code or city) lack input deduction to facilitate auto-completion.
Others: Modal window opening ("Want to stay connected?", "Want to grow your business?") is sometimes triggered without user action. Downloadable PDF documents do not have an accessible version. Tags without semantics are used to structure text passages.
