CS Electrical Case study

CS Electrical | Energy Distribution

Leading circuit board manufacturer, GSPK Circuits, recently purchased the Borougbridge PCB Facility and one acre of adjacent land to enhance its PCB manufacturing operation. The work carried out was part of creating GSPK Circuits a world class PCB manufacturing plant in the north of England. In order to effectively merge the two factories into one, the company required a complete upgrade of its electrical distribution.

The manufacturer approached C S Electrical Contractors to overhaul the current electrical system in light of the expansion of the facility. The development began two years ago and is due to be completed later this year.

The team at C S Electrical, based in Harrogate in North Yorkshire, were familiar with our products as they regularly install their circuit boards in residential properties.

"Hager circuit boards are the very best I have ever fitted."

James Sadler

However, this was the first project of its kind where they required circuit boards on a commercial scale. When GSPK approached C S Electrical Contractors to rewire the whole factory, they chose our 125A Invicta 3 Type B Distribution Boards based on their reputation for quality and reliability.

C S Electrical Contractors installed more than ten large three-phase distribution boards in the facility, citing ease of installation and the professional finish as dominant factors. James Sadler, an electrical engineer at C S Electrical Contractors commented: “The surface-mounted steel enclosures are spacious inside as well as having an aesthetically pleasing exterior – a rare combination in commercial distribution.”

The electrical contractor also installed one of our 250A Invicta 3 Panelboards to meet the demands of the new electrical distribution system. Designed and manufactured for commercial environments, the enclosures are manufactured from 1.2mm DC01M cold reduced mild steel, phosphate pre-treated and are powder coated to provide a durable solution.

James Sadler added: “I think that without a shadow of a doubt, Hager circuit boards are the very best I have ever fitted. I intend to install these products at all of my current industrial customers and other potential clientele!”

Steven Dyson, Commercial Marketing Manager, here at Hager said: “The team at C S Electrical have done a great job at rewiring a factory of this scale. Our commercial distribution range is well suited for applications like this and the engineers have done it justice.”

Due to the success of the installation so far, GSPK has requested our commercial distribution to be installed in all four remaining plots in the same facility. Also, C S Electrical Contractors will be downgrading the main switch with a separate Hager unit as the current version in the substation is too large. This will protect the whole system from overload.
