Tailored solution supports business' relocation to new site

Working alongside one of its multi-national industrial customers, Hager has designed and manufactured a tailored switchboard solution to distribute power at the business’ new, custom-built site.

Following a period of extended business growth, the business, which is based in Torbay, relocated to a 5,500m² purpose-built manufacturing facility which will house the business’ specialist plant and machinery equipment.

Working with contractor BVEC, Hager’s Tailored Solutions team was able to create a bespoke switchboard design that would support the exact needs of the composite mouldings and castings business.

The challenge facing the design team was to deliver an optimised switchboard solution that could support the specific power needs of the engineering company across its composite, plastics, and tooling requirements.

A standard Hager 800A switchboard panel would not provide sufficient power distribution and flexibility, so Hager quickly devised a bespoke answer that incorporated an additional 27 outgoing ways, which exceeded the normal limit of 18.  In addition, several TPN boards were also installed around the premises to support the specific power distribution requirements with Hager overseeing the complete project delivery.
