Hager’s flexible and innovative Klik Lighting Connection system has been installed as part of a major refurbishment project for an iconic building in the heart of London’s financial district.

With its pre-wired plugs, Klik connection helps reduce installation time on site, eliminates the chance of poor connections, and allows for the lighting system at the renowned building to adapt as needs change. It was these benefits, together with Hager’s ability to quickly respond to the customer brief, which has seen the solution specified as part of the ongoing upgrade work taking place within one of the capital’s most iconic buildings.

With the initial refurbishment works commencing on Level 6, the main challenge for the lighting requirements of the project was the need for the connection system to link seamlessly with the third-party front-end PC-control system which would control the entire lighting system on the floor.

Ben Byram, Klik key account manager from Hager, explains: “After being approached by the project’s consultant, we worked together to quickly devise a lighting connection solution that would easily dovetail with the front-end PC-based lighting control system already selected. 

“Using the flexibility that underpins the Klik connection system, we were able to speedily supply a bespoke connection PDF installation plan that the onsite electrical contractors were able to easily follow to support installation. The detailed schematic, which Hager’s expert design team can provide for all commercial projects, ensured the installation of the Klik system was straightforward and delivered tangible time savings for the project.” 

As the use of the sixth floor of the world famous building accommodates general office space, bathrooms and shower rooms, the Klik connection system was able to incorporate the specific aspects of the Level 6 refurbishment without the requirement for additional connectors and accessories.

The pluggable system ensures no complications will arise with future refurbishments too as lights can be relocated quickly and easily. In addition, Klik’s unique design prevents any unwanted disconnections due to load on cables or vibrations.”

It is anticipated that the benefits delivered by the Klik lighting connection solution will also be seen in other parts of the building as the large-scale refurbishment project extends to other floors within the acclaimed site.
