Kings Meadow School, Ainsdale 

As the electrical contractor selected by the local council for the project, Ben Carter Electrical Contracting Services Ltd worked on the refurbishment of a primary school in Ainsdale, where Hager's electrical energy distribution range has been specified to enhance the electrical distribution system for the school.

Contracted to provide a new electrical infrastructure for Kings Meadow Primary School and Early Years Education Centre, including new distribution boards and sub-main electrical circuits, Hager were the manufacturer of choice to supply the solution. 

Phase one of the refurbishment involved the installation of five new distribution boards. Specifying Hager’s Invicta 3 TPN range, the benefits this afforded the busy contractor, including robustness, ease of installation and reliability, provided the team with a solution that could withstand the demands of a busy primary school environment. The  ease of maintenance and adaptability of the Invicta range allows for future expansions, providing a sustainable solution for the long-term whilst allowing the electrical system to be adapted as and when the needs of the school change.

Conforming to Amendment 2 of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, the inclusion of surge protection devices provided each installation with optimum protection against transient overvoltages. With all Hager SPD devices being CT2 type arrangements and applicable for all common UK earthing arrangements, the team at Ben Carter Electrical Contracting Services Ltd were able to benefit from a flexible solution and remove the risk of incorrect selection. 

Offering an aesthetically pleasing finish, the glazed door on each of the specified boards enables the school’s ground owners and maintenance managers to visually assess the status of devices within the boards safely, while the ability to lock them prevents unauthorised access, a key consideration for applications in education settings.
