Hager | Design 50 Consumer Unit
Hager Design 50 flush high integrity consumer unit is designed to ensure your project will pass all necessary domestic checks and protect against faults. The consumer unit is flush against the wall and meets all wiring regulations in the UK. Using the board, your project will meet all building regulations and provide a number of incoming connections. Inside these modern consumer units, you can include all required devices for wiring a home.
Residual current devices (RCDs) fitted in a consumer unit is a condition for meeting wiring regulations for controlled electricity supply in domestic houses. With the Hager Design flush 50, there is sufficient space for miniature circuit breakers. Including RCDs will make this an RCD consumer unit.
Including an RCD is not only for meeting wiring regulations but involves protecting lights, domestic devices and appliances from damage. When installed correctly, they create power trips when an overload is detected and switch off the power.
The device has metal knockouts on the top (6) and back (3) so running fuse wires in and out of the box is simple. The knockouts make an electrician’s job of running electrical wires into the consumer unit easier. During installations, you can feed the wires through the top and back of the consumer unit while ensuring it is flush with stud work. If the box does not protrude past the stud work, installation is effective in making the board meet wiring regulations.
You can use the Hager 50 Design Flush to replace any type of consumer unit with incoming and outgoing connections. The solution is cost-effective and ensures you’re meeting building regulations.
Installation of the circuits requires only a few steps. Before beginning any installation, you should check this video to ensure your project meets the requirements for the Hager Design 50 flush circuit board. This should ensure your building has the right depth and height requirements for installation. If so, completing the installation can be done quickly and effectively with minimal effort. Although the board comes with everything you need to complete your installation, costs will vary depending on your project requirements.
