Research Report: Switching Things Up
Understanding the challenges of the energy distribution specification process in the commercial space.
Switching Things Up | Electrical Industry
We recognise the importance of understanding the challenges faced by specifying consultants and electrical contractors in the design and construction of commercial buildings. These stakeholders play a crucial role in selecting cost-effective and high-performing electrical energy and power distribution products that bring commercial spaces to life. To enhance efficiency and identify areas for energy-related improvements in commercial buildings, it is essential to grasp prevailing attitudes, expert views, and the role of value engineering in the electrical energy specification process. We aim to strengthen partnerships with consultants and contractors by uncovering their key opinions and supporting them in the evolving landscape of commercial space development, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Hackitt Review.
To facilitate ongoing conversations and deliver innovative electrical distribution solutions that meet consultants' and contractors' needs, we commissioned research to delve into the feelings and challenges faced by these professionals in the commercial space regarding electrical energy and power distribution. We look to provide support and gain a deeper understanding of the pain points experienced by consultants and contractors on a daily basis. By sharing the research findings, we hope to foster debate, promote broader comprehension, and contribute to the evolving field of commercial building development.
