Darren Heelan

Hi, my name is Darren Heelan. I am an electrician from Cork. I served my apprenticeship with O Laoire Electrical from Cill na Martra, County Cork. During my apprenticeship training I learned a lot, benefitting from the team's wealth of experience. A strong emphasis on neatness was instilled in me, a value I've carried through to the present day. We always used Hager, as the boards have good space and it's easy to keep everything in its place. Delighted to be shortlisted for installation of the year.

Gearoid Sweetnam, LC Electrical

My name is Gearoid Sweetnam, I’m 24 years old from Innishannon, Cork. I’m working as an electrician with 6 years now. Since finishing my apprenticeship I am now working with LC Electrical from Innishannon. The majority of the work we do is domestic and commercial along with a small bit of industrial work. My typical work day involves first fixing, second fixing, fault finding, testing and teaching apprentices. My favourite and most satisfying part of my job is installing a Hager consumer unit and keeping it nice and tidy. We would always use Hager materials as it looks well and we find it the most reliable to work with. The fuse board that I entered in the competition was from one of many houses that we wired and I was delighted to win a set of the blue Hager screwdrivers as I had my eye on them for a while, so thanks to Hager for that! I take great pride in my work, down to the last detail and always enjoy a good challenge.

Fionn Coakley, Coakley Electrical

Fionn Coakley is my name, owner of Coakley Electrical Services Ltd in West Kerry. My father John has over 40 years experience in the industry and I have been taking it over from him over the past number of years, while he’s winding down. We always strive to give the best possible service to our clients with great attention to detail. We like to use Hager 16kVA enhanced boards where possible, they are very impressive space wise and the push in terminals are a game changer for speeding up the process.

Henry Deane, Henry Deane Electrical

Henry from Henry Deane Electrical LTD here. A company I established in 2020 mainly specialising in residential and agricultural at the time. However, as time went on we began to expand into the commercial, EV & Solar PV sectors. Gaining us vast experience and meeting some great contractors/clients along the way.

As the company grows year on year, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality workmanship and service to all our clients. With that, installing the Hager brand on our jobs has proved to be very beneficial for us. Great products, great value, no call-backs, no brainer!

Owen O'Donnell, Paul Gallagher Electrical Ltd.

Hi, my name is Owen O Donnell , 21 years old from Donegal. I work at Paul Gallagher Electrical Ltd., which is based in Gweedore, Co.Donegal . I completed my apprenticeship with this company and continue to work there. I started my apprenticeship in 2021 and became fully qualified in January 2026. Most of the work we do is in domestic and commercial settings, and industrial work. The fuse board I entered in the competition was installed in a  private house . We always use Hager products on our installations because we find them to be the most reliable and easy to work with.

James Carraher, Carraher Electrical

I'm James from Carraher Electrical. We are a small family run Electrical Contractors who work in the Dublin area. We pride ourselves on our high standands and therefore only use materials we see fit to ensure we can adhere to this. Some years ago when I took over Carraher Electrical  my first decision was to implement the primary use of Hager products for second fixing and for all consumer units.  This decision has benefited us greatly as it has sufficiently reduced our customer call backs. We have numerous property management clients with a large number of emergency works and we have in the past encountered problems with many other manufacturer's RCBOs. Our Hager Rep is always available and on the other end of the phone and the technical team are easily messaged on whatsapp for any technical information needed.

Ross Foley , Micheál Mullins Electrical

My name is Ross Foley. I am 25 years old from Carlow. I work for Micheál Mullins Electrical Ltd., based in Co. Carlow. I served my apprenticeship through this company and I have continued to work with them. I started my apprenticeship in 2021 and qualified in 2025. The majority of the work we do is domestic and commercial, with a small bit of industrial. One of my favourite things to do in the trade are consumer units. There is nothing more satisfying in the trade than completing a tidy board. In August 2025 I won the install of the month and I was delighted to receive my prize of the Hager screwdrivers. I have had my eye on them for years. We use Hager on all our installs as we find it the most spacious and reliable to use.

Killian Martin, Robbie Burke Electrical

My name is Killian Martin. I work for Robbie Burke Electrical. I started my apprenticeship in 2021 at 17, and have recently qualified in March 2025.

I installed this board in Wagamamas, Dundrum, Dublin. It was one of my first solo run jobs. We only use Hager products as the are a great quality, allowing us leave a neat and clean finish. The lads at Robbie Burke Electrical have shown me the importance of a good work ethic and attention to detail. I will carry these values with me for the rest of my career and I am very grateful for the opportunity to work with such a great team.

Jamie O'Sullivan, Edmond Walsh Electrical

Hi, I’m Jamie O’Sullivan. I am 22 years old and from Brosna, County Kerry. I am a newly qualified electrician working with Edmond Walsh Electrical, based in Kerry. This Hager FWB board was installed in a St John of Gods community house in late 2025. We use only Hager for any job big or small as they are very reliable and extremely easy to work with.
