Eficia by Hager drives smart energy management in Spain
As logistics operations become increasingly complex, businesses are looking for smarter ways to improve efficiency while maintaining a comfortable working environment for employees. For FM Logistic Spain, achieving these objectives meant rethinking how energy is managed across its facilities.
To support this ambition, FM Logistic partnered with Eficia, a Hager company specialising in energy efficiency for commercial buildings. Together, the teams implemented a comprehensive energy management approach for office spaces, combining artificial intelligence, automation, remote supervision, and continuous human support to optimise building performance in real time.
Managing comfort in a fast-moving logistics environment
Before working with Eficia, climate management at FM Logistic relied heavily on manual interventions. Teams were required to continuously adjust system settings, creating additional workload while limiting the overall performance of the installation.
"What we do at Eficia is manage buildings intelligently, using artificial intelligence to automate operations, reduce energy consumption, improve thermal comfort and optimise equipment maintenance."
- Alexandra Chevis, Managing Director of Eficia in Spain & Portugal
Yet technology is only part of the equation.
Combining technology with human expertise
To support FM Logistic in Illescas, Spain, the Hager brand deployed a full suite of solutions, including HVAC supervision, temperature monitoring, data analysis, remote adjustments, app-based visibility, sensors, probes, and technical panels. The goal was to provide more reliable data, greater visibility into building operations, less manual adjustment, faster day-to-day management and more consistent comfort, even in spaces with varying occupancy and usage patterns.
At the heart of this approach is Eficia’s Energy Center, where dedicated energy engineers monitor installations 24/7. This continuous expert oversight ensures that building systems are not only automated but also fine-tuned in real time to respond to changing conditions. The Energy Center team provides proactive support, identifying opportunities for optimization and addressing issues before they impact operations.
By combining automation and AI with the expertise of its Energy Center engineers, Eficia helps customers continuously optimise energy performance while adapting building systems to real-world operating conditions.
From manual operation to intelligent automation
Leveraging AI-driven algorithms, the system continuously adapts to changing conditions inside the logistics facility, where activity patterns can vary significantly due to the constant movement of goods and personnel.
This dynamic approach allows building systems to respond to real-time operating conditions while maintaining the right balance between comfort and energy performance. In fact, thanks to more precise HVAC control, FM Logistic was able to achieve energy savings of 20,000 kWh.
Since the implementation of Eficia solution, FM Logistic has achieved all its goals:
"We have been very satisfied with the results. We now have clear visibility of our energy consumption, highly reliable air quality data and have moved from a completely manual system to a fully automated one."
- Fernando López, Facility Manager at FM Logistic
A partnership built on innovation and performance
The collaboration between FM Logistic and Eficia by Hager demonstrates how intelligent energy management can deliver benefits that extend beyond energy savings alone.
By combining advanced technology, continuous expert support, and a deep understanding of operational needs, the project has created a smarter, more responsive building environment that supports both business performance and employee well-being. The 24/7 monitoring ensures that buildings are not just automated but actively managed by experts, guaranteeing optimal performance at all times.
As organisations continue to look for ways to improve efficiency and sustainability, projects like this demonstrate how Hager is leveraging expertise to prepare buildings for the future, combining intelligent technology, human insight and continuous optimisation to create lasting value for the people who use them every day.
