Hager launches Pulse sustainability magazine in English, German and French
New publication brings together concrete business cases showing how sustainability is shaping customer solutions, operations, materials and skills.
Hager has released German and French editions of Pulse, making its sustainability magazine available in three languages. Through concrete business cases and measurable results, the publication explores how sustainability is shaping customer solutions, operations and the skills needed for the energy transition.
Pulse complements Hager’s Annual & Sustainability Report 2025/26, the company’s central reference for transparent, audited sustainability information. While the report provides the comprehensive data behind Hager’s sustainability performance, Pulse takes selected topics further through practical examples and perspectives from across the business.
“Sustainability and commercial ambition are not pointing in different directions. At Hager, they are the same direction. That is what makes our position so strong,” said Sabine Busse, Chief Executive Officer of Hager Group.
Making energy performance actionable
One focus of Pulse is how Hager’s solutions can help customers manage energy more efficiently. Advizeo combines energy monitoring and analytics with potential consumption reductions of 15–20%, while Eficia uses AI-driven real-time optimisation, with reductions of up to 40%. In 2025, the two businesses helped avoid 1,290 GWh of energy consumption and 97.5 ktCO₂e of emissions.
Pulse also looks at the changing role of electric vehicles in the energy system. Hager combines large-scale charging infrastructure with bidirectional Vehicle-to-Home technology. A three-year field test with Audi fed 7,000 kWh back into households, increasing energy autonomy by up to 9%.
From electrified logistics to circular materials
The magazine also examines how changes in Hager’s operations can create benefits further along the value chain. Dedicated high-power charging at its Vendenheim and Hammersbach hubs has enabled three electrified freight routes. Compared with diesel, these routes achieve around 80% lower emissions and 40% lower costs, with customer deliveries added in January 2026.
Materials provide another example. Using a Reduce–Replace–Recycle approach, Hager is working with suppliers to reduce the footprint of purchased goods. Recycled plastics developed with LATI, including materials sourced from waste streams such as fishing nets, achieve a 32% CO₂ reduction per tonne compared with virgin plastics and are used in circuit-breaker components.
Building skills for the energy transition
Pulse also considers the people and capabilities behind the transition. Hager’s installer training programmes are being evaluated through a multi-year Social Return on Investment assessment with Anthesis. Initial findings show up to 40% higher basket values and 50% fewer rework visits for installers, alongside reduced warranty exposure for Hager. The magazine also explores how Hager’s Early Careers Programme contributes to building future capabilities from within.
