Light + Building 2026:
Hager launches new brand positioning
At the Light + Building trade fair in Frankfurt, Hager officially unveils its new brand positioning “Better buildings. Better tomorrows. Hager”. The new positioning reflects the company’s ambition to become the preferred product, system and solution partner for safe, sustainable, and intelligent electrification of residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Highlights also include the launch of a new switch system under the new Hager brand, as well as innovations in energy management and bidirectional charging for electric vehicles.
Better buildings. Better tomorrows. Hager.
Sabine Busse, CEO of Hager, says: "For more than 70 years, Hager has stood for quality, safety and strong partnerships — and we are proud of that. At the same time, the demands placed on buildings, energy and infrastructure are changing. That is why Hager is continuously evolving into a provider of future-proof products, systems and solutions for the intelligent electrification of residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Our new brand identity reflects this ambition. By creating better buildings, we are helping to build better tomorrows.”
Buildings account for 38% of global carbon emissions, and 20% of existing buildings need to be renovated to be zero-carbon ready by 2030. The demand for energy-efficient, digitally connected, and future-ready buildings is growing rapidly. With its new positioning, Hager reinforces its commitment to actively shaping the transformation of the building sector. With high-quality, intelligent electrical products, systems and solutions, and expertise at every step, Hager helps electrify buildings for a more sustainable future.
By combining electrical distribution, intelligent energy management and digital solutions, Hager enables buildings to become active, connected energy managers. Hager also emphasises its close partnership with electricians, wholesalers, consultants, panel builders, system integrators and building owners. With training concepts, digital tools and services, the company supports customers in every phase – from planning and specification to installation and operation.
A new switch system. From Berker to Hager.
At the world’s leading trade fair for lighting and building services technology Light + Building, Hager introduces its new switch and socket system under the Hager brand. The new system will be launched in Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Austria in May 2026.
For more than a century, the Berker brand has set standards in design, materials and functionality. With the launch of the new switch and socket system, this heritage continues under the Hager brand – maintaining the same high quality, strong customer focus and spirit of technical innovation.
The new portfolio sets standards in design, system compatibility and functionality, while ensuring full integration into smart building and KNX environments. It underlines Hager’s ambition to offer seamless solutions from the distribution board to the switch.
Thanks to native Matter connectivity, the range integrates smoothly into any Matter ecosystem. In addition, in cooperation with Samsung, Hager has developed an optimised and personalised integration into the SmartThings platform. The new “Works With SmartThings” certification offers both end users and electricians extended possibilities for automation, control and an even smarter user experience.
With 50% post-consumer recycled plastics (PCR ) in rockers, deco covers and frames, Hager sets new benchmarks in sustainable product design. In addition, the system is Cradle to Cradle Certified® Full Scope Bronze V4.1, designed with life cycle thinking in mind, meeting strict science-based requirements for Material Health, Product Circularity, Clean Air & Climate Protection, Water & Soil Stewardship, and Social Fairness.
Innovations in charging infrastructure, energy management and digital tools
Hager is also expanding its charging infrastructure portfolio. An outlook on upcoming solutions is provided by the bidirectional charging station witty flex, presented for the first time at Light + Building. The witty park 2 dual charging station will now be available with integrated credit card terminal. The solution is aligned with the EU Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (ISO 15118 is supported).
Furthermore, the energy management system flow will be equipped with AI 360 technology. This enables optimal use of dynamic electricity tariffs and variable grid charges, automatically reducing consumption costs. The new generation flow R3 is modular and scalable for single-family homes, multifamily buildings and small commercial applications.
In addition, Hager has further developed its digital toolbox for residential and commercial buildings. The Expert and Premium versions of Hagercad now include a CO₂ calculation module that determines the carbon footprint of planned electrical distribution systems.
Sustainability as a strategic foundation
Sustainability is deeply embedded in Hager’s corporate strategy. The company systematically reduces its CO₂ footprint across the entire product lifecycle and supports customers with transparent environmental data, including product environmental profiles and manufacturer declarations.
Hager’s sustainability performance has been recognised internationally with a CDP Climate Change A- rating and EcoVadis Platinum status. From 2026 onwards, all products are compatible with major building certification systems further supporting sustainable construction projects.
