Turning partnership into progress: bringing circular solutions to life
Collective energy: from sustainability ambition to concrete applications
At Hager, innovation is driven by collaboration.
Together with our partners LATI and Aquafil, we have translated circular ambition into a concrete product developments: the high-performance MCB, integrating regenerated plastic, produced via chemical depolymerization process, while meeting the demanding technical and safety requirements of electrical protection products.
These developments demonstrate that moving towards more circular solutions is not about compromise — it is about working collectively to make them viable in real-world applications.
“This initiative shows that we are able to bring innovation into our products when we work closely with the right partners. It is still a first step in our Scope 3 journey, but it demonstrates what is possible.” - Alain Michel, Category Sourcing Management Resins at Hager
A shared effort across the value chain
Behind the high-performance MCB products lie strong collaborations between partners with complementary expertise.
- Aquafil, transforming waste streams into high-quality regenerated raw materials,
- LATI, developing compounds adapted to the performance requirements of electrical applications,
- Hager, integrating these materials into reliable and industrialised solutions.
Each step is essential - from sourcing and processing recycled resources to ensure full product performance.
“LATI and Aquafil represent the right type of partners for us - flexible, close to our needs, and able to adapt quickly. This kind of collaboration is essential to move from concept to industrial reality.” - Alain Michel, Category Sourcing Management Resins at Hager
“Circular innovation becomes truly meaningful and tangible only when it is translated into reliable, scalable solutions. This requires close collaboration across the entire value chain.” - Jacopo Carabelli, Technical Service Engineer at LATI.
This alignment enables more than material substitution.
It allows the development of solutions that combine technical performance, industrial feasibility, and innovative approaches to materials.
Unlocking the potential of circular materials together
This collaboration also highlights the importance of working together to unlock the full potential of recycled materials. For the high-performance MCB ‘s, part of the polymers used come from recycled sources such as fishing nets and carpets, demonstrating how waste streams can be reintegrated into industrial applications.
“What makes this project significant is the ability to connect expertise - from material regeneration to industrial application - to deliver solutions that are not only drop-in ready but also be impossible to achieve by acting individually.”- Eng Nicole Soligo, ECONYL® EP Product Manager at Aquafil Group.
By combining their strengths, the partners demonstrate that circularity is not only about materials: it is about collaboration, alignment, and mutual commitment.
A step forward - together
While this initiative represents a first step, it already illustrates a fundamental shift: innovation is no longer driven by individual players, but by collaborative ecosystems.
At Hager, we will continue to work closely with our partners to explore new ways to develop solutions that are both technically robust and aligned with our sustainability ambitions — together.
“Our role is not only to identify suppliers, but to work closely with them and with our internal teams to validate materials that can meet our technical requirements. By doing so, we contribute to building solutions that support our ambition of ‘Better buildings. Better tomorrows.’” - Alain Michel, Category Sourcing Management Resins at Hager
